I spent nearly 20 years of my life slaving to Corporate America. To be honest, it wasn't bad in the beginning. I made a comfortable living, took leisurely vacations to Mexico, had a gorgeous home.

I thought I had it all--that is, until I had kids and had to send them to childcare when they were 3 months old

Everyday I started hating myself and my 'dream job' more and more.

Eventually, I broke down, quit, and became a stay at home mom with my two beautiful boys.

This was all well and good for a while. No more child care every day, no more tearful goodbyes, no more missing their 'firsts'...

But eventually, I needed something else. I needed to grow.

Both of my parents had careers in criminal justice.

While I was never fit to be a crime scene investigator or anything (after all, I was bred and in corporate America), the standard paralegal job description piqued my interest.

After researching my options, I knew that a criminal justice career (particularly that of a paralegal) would be perfect for me.

What more could I ask for?

Then I realized I needed a criminology degree. As a stay at home mom, my family didn't have the time or money for me to get a typical education

After researching my options, I realized that I could get a criminal justice online degree in my spare time and begin pursuing a career in criminal justice as a paralegal

I know, I know... getting an online criminology degree seems sketchy, right? What employer would hire someone with an online degree?

Well, ends up everyone! With typical college degrees costing so much, getting an online degree is considered a smart, prudent step these days.

This website is my story about how I pursued my dreams of staying home with my children and getting a career I love that would provide my family with excellent health benefits and a stable salary
